Project "Battle Axes"

Principal Level Designer

I was specifically requested by the producer of this project to come work on it, having first worked with him on the "Descendance" project and making a good impression.

The Process

The Battle Axes project was in it's early prototyping stage, and they needed an arena environment to use as a playtest space. The game was a medieval combat game, It was to be multiplayer, and at the time they needed the map to support two teams of up to 6 a side.

 

I decided the best space for this requirement is a Colosseum. 

 

I quickly drew up a sketch, then proceeded to blocking stage to get the spacing and metrics. From here I was asked to use available assets from the Unreal marketplace for the level art of the map.
